Abstract :
The Qur ʹan is the most recent message sent to people by the almighty God. The Qur’an hasbeen meticulously written and memorised by rote by the muslim hodjas from its coming. In this way it has not been exposed to slight change and the original form of it has been protected. It is seen that there are significant differences between the aim memorising the Qur’an duringthe period of prophet Muhammed and today’s aim of memorising. While the Qur’an was memorised to understand and apply its principles in the period of Muhammed, the current aim is to memorise by rote only. Since it is memorised by rote, it does not seem to have a relation with the current and actual daily life. In that case, to become real reciter of the Qur’an, as happened in the period of Prophet, it is necessary to understand and apply the verses of the Qur’an after memorising it.
