Abstract :
The aim of study is to find out the women’s process of religious coping and activities for handling with difficulties in IVF treatment. The subject of article which includes a qualitative study on women under IVF treatment is religious/spiritual life of the women in this process and if their God imagination is affected by this or not. The data has been collected via interview method through half- structured form. Criterion sampling method is used with the snowball method from the models of oriented sample additional to the condition of IVF treatment for 3 times. The sample consists of 12 women in Istanbul. According to the findings, it is seen that the women who had IVF treatment to have a baby, see this situation as a test by God, and they use the positive and negative activities of religious coping. It is seen that frequency of prayers and salah and search for meaning to question the life increase. While the ones who use positive religious coping put forward the name of “Mercy” for imagination of God, the ones who are in negative religious coping put forward “Strenght/Power” concept.
