Abstract :
Every society has been in an effort to raise young generations well, in this way, by investing in education and training aims to look at the future more confidently. In the Ottoman Empire, reforms made in the name of increasing the quality and level of education with the Tanzimat period continued until the first years of the Republic as controversial. Many intellectuals of the period came together in different intellectual channels and tried to contribute to the process, to grow the younger generation better acting with sensitivity to the contribution point that educational institutions can offer. During this period, Mehmet Şemseddin Günaltay was one of the prominent figures with his actions, discourses and ideas on education. Günaltay who successfully synthesized the identities of educators and politicians kept the pulse of the society with his articles on education and education published in the Sebilürreşâd and shed light on his writings on the problematic topics of the period as schools and madrasas, training and education issues, moral education, the method of education. The aim ofis article to determine Günaltay’s view of educational issues in his period through his articles published in the Journal of Sebilürreşâd, which deals with different topics related to education and training and basic problems related to education and training from the Constitutional Monarchy to the Republic.
