Abstract :
In this study the estimated concentration of five heavy metals ( cadmium , lead , chromium , copper and zinc) in the both dissolved and particulate phases of the water,in the exchangeable and residual phases of the sediment and in the two species of plants Phragmites australis and Ceratophyllum demersum . Three stations have been chosen in the study erea. Sampls were collected quarterly during 2013. The results showed that the annual rates of concentration of heavy elements ( Cd , Pb , Cr , Cu , Zn ) in dissolved phase were ( 9.73, 2.06 , 1.08 , 8.11, 45.48 ) ^g/l , in particulate phase were ( 23.01 , 13.52 , 56.81 , 70.96 , 1915.41 ) ^g/gm dry weight respectively , and those for exchangeable and residual phases of the Sediment were Cd ( 7.93 , 8.50) , Pb (3.30, 7.01) , Cr ( 20.47 , 107.19 ) , Cu ( 50.66, 69.5 ) and Zn ( 63.30, 1355.36) ^g/gm dry weight respectively. The heavy metals concentrations in Ph. australis and C. demersum were ( 5.33 , 2.67 , 13.17 , 52.89, 149.82) and ( 7.50, 13.94 , 20.80 , 54 , 224. 83) ^g/gm dry weight respectively.C. demersum had show high concentration of heavy metal more than Ph. austalis during study period , The arrangement of the metals accumulation in the samples of the study followed : particulate phase sediments C. demersum Ph. austalis dissolved phase .
