Abstract :
In this paper,we study boundary value problems of difference equations which arise as discrete approximations to Lidstone boundary value problems of fourth-order ordinary differential equations. By developing the method of lower and upper solutions, we investigate the existence of solutions as well as the nonexistence of spurious solutions to the discrete problems.
