Abstract :
Asymmetric distribution of an artificial boundary lipid between the outer and inner leaflets of multilamellar vesicles (MLVs) was determined by the modified 1H-NMR peak deconvolution technique. The asymmetry was affected by the vesicle preparation method, suggesting that a relatively high energy state of lipid bilayer is required for the boundary lipid to promote its specific function.
