Abstract :
In our day, Small and micro states theories have become a research area that draws increasing interest and that also occupies a wider space in international relations. Countries that classify as microstates amongst the types of states having different definition and classification studies according to qualitative and quantitative criteria vary depending on the different periods and geographic areas. In the light of these studies, some of the states that are widely considered and agreed upon to be micro states particularly in Europe, are; Andorra, Monaco, Liechtenstein and San Marino. From the point of view of Turkish foreign policy, our country’s relations with these European states are mutually undeniably active, despite being based on limited areas. Sports, diplomacy, tourism and economy are the main subjects of mutual relations. In this study Turkey’s relations with four states that are considered microstates in Europe has been examined, with the aim of determining the areas that can be developed according to the obtained conclusions. In this context, the purpose of the study is to contribute to the literature of international relations, in the area of microstates studies.
