Abstract :
Compulsory religion course in Turkey, a part of religious education, has been implemented in conditions peculiar to the country. Religious education under the control of state, secularism and freedom of religion and conscience are the main constitutional principles on compulsory religion course. Turkish jurisdic-tion makes ground on continuing of obligation of religion course through conservative approach. On the other hand, ECHR made important jurisprudences and gave decisions against Turkey. In the subject of compulsory religion course, a model a unique type does not exist which Turkey should follow. The best solution to the problem of compulsory religion course in Turkey is making the lecture scientific through its content and type of education by adopting good implementations of West.
