Abstract :
Let A and B be two unital C∗-algebras. It is shown that if a surjectivemap ϕ : A → B satisfies: ϕ (A∗B + B∗A / 2 ) = ϕ (A) ∗ ϕ (B) + ϕ (B) ∗ ϕ (A) / 2 for every A, B ∈ A, and if ϕ is injective or ϕ (−I ) = −I , then ϕ is the direct sum of two ∗-homomorphisms, one of which is C-linear and the other is conjugate C-linear.
