Abstract
The purpose this study was to investigation of tennis specific skills in 12-14 year old tennis players. Twenty amateur tennis players (Female:10, Male: 10) participated in this study voluntarily. Body composition was evaluated at body height, body weight and some kinantropometric measurements. Tennis specific skills were evaluated by Dewitt-Dugan and Broer-Miller test. Isometric strength was evaluated by grip, back, knee and total strength. Anaerobic performance was determined by vertical jump test. The results of the Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis indicated that tennis specific skills significantly correlated with body composition, strength and anaerobic performance. As a conclusion, the findings of the present study indicated that body composition, strength and anaerobic performance play a determinant role in tennis specific skills in 12-14 year old tennis players.
