Abstract :
The present study aimed to adapt the Parental Involvement Scale in Education to sports and examine whether its psychometric properties met the validity and reliability criteria. The original scale was developed by Gürbüztürk and Sad (2010a; 2010b). The Parental Involvement Scale is a Likert-type scale with 5 options (Always-Never). In the adaptation of the scale, content validity, construct validity, convergent validity, divergent validity and criterion validity were analyzed respectively. NFI, CFI, GFI, RMSEA fit index values were calculated in the study. In addition, the reliability of the scale was determined by calculating the internal consistency coefficient and the test-retest reliability coefficient. As a result, it was determined that the sport-adapted version of the data collection tool showed a good fit as 36 items and 8 factors according to the fit index values.
