Abstract :
Objective: The aim of this study was to relation between Social Problem Solving Skills and Self-control on police officers in Turkish National Police, Center Headquarter Department. Also studied Police officers Social Problem Solving Skills and Selfcontrol and socio demographic quantities. Social Problem Solving İnventory – reliabilited and validited by Duyan and Gelbal-, Self Control İnventory - reliabilited and validited by Gülden,Duyan and Gelbal- and question shet are used in research. Firstly wide spread literature seaching has been done about police, social problem solving skills and self control issues. Methods: The study apllied on 200 police officers who working and have different branches in Turkish National Police, Center Headquarter Department. Question sheets handed out those officers for fill them. Findings were obtained by processing the collected datain SPSS. Results: According to the findings there is a relation between social problem solving skills and self control on police officers. Woman police officers have high self control than mans. When look at the other samples (rank, education, age, smoking or etc.) are not found any relation with them. Conclusion: Because of long workin hours, recruit systems, relation between chief-officer or etc. Problems need best political solutation for police officers.
