Abstract :
Neonates may experience pain for various reasons during their stay in Neonatal Intensive Care Units. The lack of a verbal response to the pain affects the assessment and management of existing pain negatively. Therefore, pain in newborns should be evaluated with appropriate pain scales. In this review, the roles of pain, evaluation, management and nurse are discussed.
