Abstract :
Aim: Today, the use of İnternet has become widespread in the workplace. In addition to the many benefits such as reducing costs, accelerating the service, making communication faster and more efficient and increasing customer satisfaction; It is also used by employees during working hours for non-business purposes and also causes them to shirk. This situation, called cyberloafing, poses a serious threat to organizations. If adapt themselves to the organizations, and create a harmony between their values and organizational values, and if they are identify themselves with their organization in short; they may be less likely to exhibit cyberloafing behaviors that will harm their organization. In this context, the main purpose of the research is to determine the relationships between organizational identification and cyberloafing behaviors. Method: This research is a quantitative research conducted with relational survey model. The study group consists of 632 assistant health personnel working in Elazığ State Hospital. No sampling was conducted, and the data was collected from 189 employees. A questionnaire form was used to collect data. In the first part of the questionnaire, there are questions about socio-demographic information of the participants including age, gender, marital status, educational status, title, total workyears andtheyearsworked in theorganization. In the second part of the questionnaire, 6-item “Organizational Identification Scale” developed by Mael and Ashforth (1) implied in order to determine the organizational identification levels of the employees. In the last part of the questionnaire, “Cyberloafing Scale”, which was developed by Lim (2) and then enhanced by Blanchard and Henle (3), was used to measure the employees’ cyberloafing behaviors. Findings: As a result of thestudy, it was reached that as the organizational identification levels of the employees increase, their cyberloafing behaviors decrease. Conclusion: It can be said that employees with a high level of organizational identification avoid harming their organization and not show cyberloafing behaviors. These employees will prefer to use the internet to develop themselves and their organization, and make them stronger against their competitors. Especially in a sector such as health, in which mistakes cannot be accepted, and neglect can lead to fatal results, cyberloafing behaviors in the work places are unacceptable and must be prevented with awareness. In this regard; this research is aimed to draw attention of the managers of health institutions to the subject and raise awareness.
