Abstract :
We have prepared a new molybdenum polycyanide K0.9MnII1.05[MoI(CN)5(NO)]·5H2O·1.9MeOH with a face-centered cubic structure with a lattice constant of 10.72 A. This compound exhibited a spontaneous magnetization with a Curie temperature of 39 K and a saturated magnetization value (IS) of 3.8 (mu)B. This IS value and magnetic susceptibility measurements indicate that the magnetic coupling between MnII and MoI ions is antiferromagnetic.
