Abstract :
Bovine mastitis significantly affects milk production and is a major source of antimicrobial-resistant bacterial agents. The objective of this study is to evaluate the antimicrobial effectiveness of Bacillus subtilis ATCC 6051 and wild-type Bacillus spp. against Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella spp. in bovine mastitis. The study utilized the well diffusion method, three factors were considered such as A (direct diffusion and filtered diffusion methods), B (commercial Bacillus subtilis and wild Bacillus spp.), and C (Klebsiella spp. and Staphylococcus aureus). The growth curve analysis was used to assess differences in growth capacity between Bacillus subtilis ATCC 6051 and wild-type Bacillus spp. Bacillus subtilis ATCC 6051 showed higher inhibition zone measurements against Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella spp. compared to wild-type Bacillus spp. Direct diffusion method exhibited average inhibition zone measurements of 20.40 mm for both Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella spp. with Bacillus subtilis ATCC 6051. Wild-type Bacillus spp. had lower inhibition measurements compared to Bacillus subtilis ATCC 6051. Growth curve analysis indicated that Bacillus subtilis ATCC 6051 had a higher growth capacity in the exponential phase compared to wild-type Bacillus spp.
