Abstract :
5ʹ-Azido-5ʹ-deoxy and 5ʹ-arylthio-5ʹ-deoxy pyrimidine nucleosides were synthesized employing intramolecular glycosylation, in which a reaction intermediate was treated in situ with an azide salt or thiol.
