Abstract :
Linear trinuclear cobalt(II) complex with (alpha)-phenylcinnamic acid (phcinaH), [Co3(phcina)6(quin)2] (quin = quinoline) was synthesized and characterized by X-ray crystallography and magnetic susceptibility measurement. The magnetic susceptibility of the linear trimer, which has one octahedral and two trigonal-bipyramidal coordination was analyzed by modified Lines model.
