Chiral-Selective Formation of S-Bridged CoIIIPdIICoIII Trinuclear Complexes by Using trans(N)-[Co(D-pen-N,O,S)2]as a Bidentate-S,S Complexed-Ligand (D-pen = D-Penicillaminate)

The reaction of [PdCl2{Co(aet)2(en)}]+ (aet = 2-aminoethanethiolate) with trans(N)-[Co(D-pen-N,O,S)2]- (D-pen = Dpenicillaminate) in water led to the formation of three optically active S-bridged CoIIIPdIICoIII complexes, [Pd{Co(D-penN,O,S)2}2]0 (1), (lambda)-[Pd{Co(D-pen-N,O,S)2}{Co(aet)2(en)}]2+ ((lambda)-2), and (delta)(delta)-[Pd{Co(aet)2(en)}2]4+ ((delta)(delta)-3).
