Structure of Doubly-linked Oxidative Product of Quercetin in Lipid Peroxidation

From quercetin during autoxidation of unsaturated lipid and radical reaction, a novel doubly-linked oxidative product was isolated and its structure has been characterized to be l,3,l latrihydroxy-9-(3,5,7-trihydroxy-4H-1 -benzopyran-4-on-2-yl)-5a(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-5,6,l l-hexahydro-5,6,11trioxanaphthacene-12-one by spectroscopic analyses and chemical transformation afteroptical resolution by chromatography.
