Highly (alpha)-Selective Glycosylation with Glycosyl Acetate via Glycosyl Phosphonium Iodide

Mild and highly (alpha)-selective glycosylations of several acceptors with glycosyl phosphonium iodide, a glycosyl donor readily generated in situ from glycosyl acetate, proceeded smoothly to afford the corresponding disaccharides in high yields.
