Rational Syntheses of Novel Linear Chain Rhodium(I)–Semiquinonato Complexes Using Redox Reaction of Rh4(CO)12 Cluster with o-Benzoquinone Derivatives

Redox reactions of dodecacarbonyltetrarhodium(0), Rh4(CO)12, with 9,10-phenanthraquinone derivatives gave novel onedimensional rhodium(I)–semiquinonato complexes. Two typical linear chain structures with direct Rh–Rh contacts were determined by X-ray crystal structure analyses of the compounds.
