Abstract :
A photochromic compound having three diarylethene units was synthesized and its photochromic performance was examined in hexane solution as well as in a bulk amorphous phase. The compound formed a stable amorphous solid with Tg of 120 °C and the solid exhibited a reversible color change upon irradiation with UV and visible light.
