Abstract
A review of the modern state ol lormation mechanisms of giant resonances (GR) and their properties in light nuclei (Z< 28) is given based on the notions about the nature of GR in atomic nuclei. The peculiarities of GR physics in atomic nuclei suggests that a new form of GR significantly differing from GR in medium and heavy nuclei is formed in them.
