Abstract :
The aim of the present work is to investigate the effect of a speed limit I < Viam-x. < (unlimited) on the phase diagram of the model with fmax = (unlimited) considered in [1], as well as on the features of self-organized criticality (SOC) which have been observed there. Results of computer simulations and mean-field calculations of a ID particle hopping model of traffic flow with a speed limit and open boundary conditions are presented here. The results are compared with the corresponding ones for the model without a speed limit. Evidence for SOC is found both in space and in time.
