Abstract
Zero-range potential model based on the theory of self-adjoint extensions of symmetric operators is suggested for the description of a waveguide in photonic crystal. Both the threeand two-dimensional cases are considered. Layers, waveguides and coupled waveguides are studied. The model dispersion equation is obtained in an explicit form.
