Abstract :
An erbium-doped fibre amplifier has been implemented with a 1.48 mu m pumping from a Cr4+:YAG solid state laser. Record launched pump power of 256 mW and output power of 21.8 dBm with this type of pump laser have been obtained. Results are shown for a broad range of pump wavelength (24 nm) and signal wavelength (70 nm).
