Abstract
In a long essay Platoʹs Pharmacy, Jacques Derrida attacked Western metaphysics. This paper undertakes to defend Western philosophy from Derridaʹs arguments. It is shown that Derridaʹs arguments are very unsatisfactory. c 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
