New macromodels of a switch for SPICE applications

This paper is concerned with the macromodeling of a “switch” which is important from the point of view of SPICE simulation of dc–dc converters, switching mode power supplies, and power electronic circuits. In this paper, some new macromodels of switches are introduced which are simpler and allow faster simulation times than a previously known model. The underlying principle and the mechanism of the proposed models has been explained in a manner suitable for educational purposes.
