Simplified method for analytical evaluation of convolution integrals

A simple systematic approach to calculating convolution integrals involving piecewise continuous functions is presented as an alternative to the method involving step-function representations. (See I. S. Goldberg, M. G. Block, and R. E. Rojas, “A systematic method for the analytical evaluation of convolutional integrals,” IEEE Trans. Educ., vol. 45, pp. 65–69, Feb. 2002.) In the approach described herein, the limits of each fixed-function segment are used to define the minimum number of integrals that must be calculated.
