Abstract :
One of the most interesting aspect in the thermal
analysis of an ACSR (Aluminium Conductors Steel Reinforced)
conductor is the knowledge of the temperature distribution in
its interior. These conductors have the problem of
heterogeneous characteristics in their interior.
This paper proposes a model, based on the finite-element
technique, that considers temperature distribution in the
interior of the conductor. The model relates the current
distribution through the layers with the transmission of heat
between them and with the exterior, both in steady state and in
transient.
