Abstract :
The 1970s was a time of profound change in the life of AD. Printing methods radically changed to include a lot more colour, the editorial board comprised a healthy generational mix and, by the middle of the decade, the magazine turned to book form. Guest-editor Samantha Hardingham discovers how the magazine came into its own by publishing everything from ideas on paper to the working details of a sports stadium whilst maintaining a healthy ongoing dialogue between its contributors and readers.
