  • Abstract
    Abstract-Activation techniques have been used to measure the partial neutron cross sections for the 64Zn(n,p)"Cu reaction at neutron energies between 14.2 and 17.2 MeV, the 64Zn(n,2n)63Zn, 66Zn(n,p)66Cu and 67Zn(n.p)67Cu reactions from 14.2 to 18.2 MeV, and the 68Zn(n,p)68mCU and 68Zn(n,o:)65Ni reactions between 14.2 and 16.2 MeV. The mixed powder method and a Ge(Li) detector gamma-ray spectrometer were utilized in the measurements. Neutrons were produced by the 3H(d,n)4He reaction, and the neutron flux was measured through the "AI(n,o:)24Na reaction. The reactions, the measured cross sections and the respective neutron energies (each with a spread of ±0.2 MeV) are as follows: 64Zn(n,p)64Cu, 180 ± 10, 152 ±9, 116 ±6 and 122 ±8mb at 14.2, 15.2, 16.2 and 17.2MeV; 64Zn(n,2n)63Zn, 121 ±6, 176 ± 10, 222 ± 13, 267 ± 17 and 327 ± 27 mb at 14.2, 15.2, 16.2, 17.2 and 18.2 MeV; 66Zn(n,p)66Cu, 76 ± 5, 72 ± 6, 71 ± 8, 62 ± 7 and 57 ± 7 mb at 14.2, 15.2, 16.2, 17.2 and 18.2 MeV; 67Zn(n,p)67Cu, 82 ± 5, 106 ± 6, 125 ± 8, 141 ± 21 and 230 ± 30 mb at 14.2, 15.2, 16.2, 17.2 and 18.2 MeV; 68Zn(n,p)68mCU, 5 ± 0.6,6 ± I and 2 ± 1 mb at 14.2, 15.2 and 16.2 MeV; 68Zn(n,Ct)65Ni, 10 ± 0.7,9 ± 0.7 and 7 ± 1 mb at 14.2, 15.2 and 16.2 Mev.
