Abstract :
The high-level radioactive waste problem in the future equilibrium nuclear society is discussed
by investigating the balance between produced and incinerated toxicities. Produced long-life fission
products and leaked actinide are studied for 4 types of reactor fed with natural uranium or thorium fuel.
The toxicity of the produced long-life fission products shows the similar level to the incinerated fed fuel.
The acceptable actinide leakage rate is only about 10-8 for the pure uranium feed case and about 10-7
for the thorium feed case after 10 years cooling, and about 10-6 for the uranium + thorium + radium feed
case and about 10-5 for the thorium feed case after 1000 years cooling.
