Algorithm for monitoring the height of flooding of the core

This paper presents a proposal of the algorithm for monitoring the height of flooding of VVER-440/213 reactor core. The proposal is based on the computational analysis of the changes in the reactorʹs internal natural frequencies, for different levels of core flooding, and on their comparison with the experimental values, evaluated from measurement results of the primary circuit noise source analysis, at the nuclear power plants Dukovany and Jaslovske Bohunice. Calculations were performed with a three-dimensional model of the VVER-440/213 reactor, developed using the finite elements approach.
