Neutron cross-sections of 238U in the energy range 0.01–5.5 MeV

Calculated neutron cross-sections in agreement with the experimental data have been obtained for 238U in the energy range 0.01±5.5 MeV. The compound nucleus calculations have been performed with a version of the HRTW statistical model extended to subbarrier excita- tion energies which includes the calculation of the isomeric ®ssion. The results con®rm the power of prediction of this model for the actinide nuclei
