Abstract
Computer simulation is presented of the thermal behavior of glass used for windows in buildings subjected to the typical exposure of an accidental fire. Radiation data are processed with the P1 method, transfer being taken as unidimensional. A detailed representation is given of the boundaries of the mediums, radiative as well as conductive. The aim of this study is to bring out not only the influence of the thickness of the glass, but also its thermo-optic characterization, using a spectrum of non-gray mediums and various reflective properties of the surfaces. A comparison with experimental results shows a good agreement with results predicted by the authorsʹ computer software.
