Abstract :
A number of multizone models have been developed to predict airflow and pollutant transport between rooms. Zonal models have been developed to calculate airflow and temperature distribution within single rooms. To take the advantages of these two types of model, a zonal model has been nested within a multizone model (COMIS) to allow increased resolution in the prediction of local air flow velocities, temperature and concentration distributions between and within rooms. This paper presents details of the theories and methods which have been incorporated into the new program and of how these new facilities may be put to practical use in studies using the program.
