Fuzzy index for the estimation of product and process toxicity

A hierarchical fuzzy index is proposed for comparing product and process toxicity. The comparison is based on the dose of toxin, time of exposure and method of absorption. The concept of a γ-coefficient is applied for handling the above-mentioned toxicity factors. An example is presented to illustrate the applicability of the method.
