Abstract :
The kinetics of the esterification of mono-2-ethylhexyl phthalate in the presence of p-toluensulphonic acid as a catylst have been investigated in an isothermal semibatch reactor. The reaction appears to be first order with respect to mono-2-ethylhexyl phthalate and the reaction rate does not depend on the concentration of 2-ethylhexanol as in the presence of sulphuric acid
