Electric-field-induced structural changes measured with a CCDcoupled X-ray image intensifier

The feasibility of the use of a charge-coupled device (CCD) in combination with an Xray image intensifier for perturbation crystallography, where small changes in integrated intensity are to be detected, is investigated. The system proved to be sufficiently accurate and stable to measure changes in integrated intensity below 0.1%.
