Effect of a crystallite size distribution on X-ray diffraction line profiles and whole-powder-pattern fitting

A procedure for determining crystallite size distributions, based on theoretical considerations and whole-powder-pattern modelling, is compared with methods of lineprofile analysis in which reflections are approximated by an analytical function.
