Abstract :
A comparison is made between Arbitrary LagrangianÐEulerian (ALE) Þnite element formulations for simulation of forming processes based on an artiÞcial dissipation scheme and a limited ßux scheme. The Þrst ALE algorithm is based on an averaging procedure used in post-processing of Þnite element calculations. The second ALE algorithm stems from a Þnite di¤erence method for compressible ßuid dynamics. Both approaches have complementary characteristics with respect to accuracy and implementation
