Multilayer Taylor-Galerkin schemes for convection problems

A new approach to derivation of high-order Taylor{Galerkin methods is introduced. Additional time layers are shown to yield temporal accuracy unattainable within a two-layer strategy. Two explicit model schemes are constructed, and the von Neumann stability analysis is conducted. The behaviour of the proposed schemes is illustrated on one- and two-dimensional benchmark problems
