Abstract
The optimization of modern bionics bascule bridges mapping the configurations from the nature and
adopted in advanced structural engineering is dealt with in the present paper. Theoretical and numerical
approaches suggested are based on the evolution algorithms also appearing in the nature. Generalized
synthesis in optimization of ultimate behaviour of bionics bascule bridges is analysed. Actual structural
