Adaptive finite element methods for hydrodynamic lubrication with cavitation

We present an adaptive finite element method for a cavitation model based on Reynolds’ equation. A posteriori error estimates and adaptive algorithms are discussed, and numerical examples illustrating the theory are supplied. Copyright q 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
