Abstract
Transient grating spectroscopy in the diamond-anvil high-pressure cell permits,
in favorable cases, determination of the equation of state and thermal transport
properties of fluids at high temperatures and pressures. Measurements of the
speed of sound and thermodynamic properties of aqueous Na2SO4 to 3.4 GPa
at 300%C and the thermal diffusivity of oxygen are reported as examples of the
application of this technique.
