A UK Isolate of Impatiens Necrotic Spot Virus From Glasshouse-grown Cineraria

A tospovirus was detected by ELISA in a Cineraria sample from a commercial protected crop in the UK. Its seroiogical properties indicated it to be Impatiens necrotic spot virus (INSV), results confirmed by RT-PCR tests and nucleotide sequence data on the nucleoproteinencoding region of the genome. This is the first report of the presence of INSV in a protected crop grown in the UK.
