Abstract
Ascomata of Rosellinia necatrix were found on roots
of a dead avocado tree, documenting the occurence of
the sexual stage in a commercial field in southern
Spain, and a description of the teleomorph was done.
Additionally, the Dematophora state was obtained by
inoculating avocado plants with germinating ascospores
from these perithecia, connecting the anamorph
and teleomorph phases of this species and confirming
the infection capacity of the mycelium from these ascospores.
