Abstract :
Particle detection efficiences of the Condensation Particle Counter (CPC) TSI-3010 are measured for various temperature differences between saturator and condenser. By increasing the temperature difference from the default value of 17°C to the maximum value of 2SoC, the particle detection efficiency curve becomes steeper and shifts to smaller particle diameters. In this way, the50% detection efficiency diameter of the TSI· 3010 CPC decreases from 10.S to S.7 nm, without the necessity to change its internal design. In this size range, the desired lower detection limit of the TSI-3010 can be adjusted by operating the CPC at the corresponding temperature difference between saturator and condenser.
